This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Vicinity uses on the website at inyourvicinity.ca (the "Service") and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember information about you and your visit, such as that you are signed in. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels — wherever this policy says "cookies," it covers those too.
Cookies can be:
- First-party (set by inyourvicinity.ca) or third-party (set by another domain whose content is loaded on our pages);
- Session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remain until they expire or are deleted).
2. Cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in.

2.2 Analytics
These cookies help us understand aggregate usage of the Service. They are not required to use the Service, and you can opt out (see §3).

Google's use of data collected through Google Analytics is governed by Google's privacy policy and the Google Analytics terms.
2.3 What we don't use
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell information collected through cookies.
3. How to control cookies
3.1 Browser settings
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Help pages for common browsers:
If you block the "strictly necessary" Supabase cookies you will not be able to sign in.
3.2 Opting out of Google Analytics
You can opt out of Google Analytics in any of these ways:
- install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on;
- block third-party cookies in your browser; or
- enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser (we honour GPC where required by law).

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this document indicates the most recent revision.
